November 28th, Hike-N-Sing Friday
Yes, you CAN sing! Join us on this 2nd Annual Hike-N-Sing as we explore melodies and harmonies through vocal play during this musical exploration in the natural world. We will meet at the Food City parking lot on Signal Mountain Blvd. at 1:00pm and together we will decide how much hiking we want to do (between 2-6 miles) in the beautiful Prentice Cooper State Forest, and we will have an assortment of songs to share along the way. Participants can choose their favorites or even share a new one with the group.
Advance registration appreciated but not required. However, we won't know who to look for in the parking lot unless you let us know you're coming, so make plans now to join us.
ChattaSings is for any one who wants to mindfully and joyfully play with the sounds of their own voice in a supportive community environment. In this introductory workshop we will explore melody, harmony, and simple rounds as we learn new music in a call and response style.
Singing Circles have a long and diverse tradition as a way in which communities celebrate, grieve, share, and connect with one another. This deeply human practice of making music together with songs taught in the oral tradition is open to all who love music and song regardless of age or ability. Join us for this inter-generational, non-auditioned, community Singing Circle to promote Peace with self, others, and the world around you.
A note about payment: our goal is to make community singing once again accessible to EVERYONE! Tickets are always sliding-scale so choose the price point that feels both generous and affordable. No one turned away for lack of funds! Your voice is a valuable part of this community chorus, so make plans to join us for this special time.
You can also just show up; there's always a seat in the circle for you!
Donations accepted but not required via Venmo @Naomi-Self or at the door with cash.
